Why Hire A Wedding Planner?

Six Reasons Why a Wedding Planner Will Relieve Your Stress!

Some couples have been dreaming about their wedding day their whole life, while others may have never imagined they would be walking down the aisle. No matter which engaged couple you are, a wedding planner/coordinator may be able to make your life a whole lot easier. It's no secret that wedding planning can be stressful and time-consuming, but it doesn't have to be! We have put together a few reasons why you may want to consider hiring a wedding planner for your special day!

Saving You Time

On average it takes approximately 250 hours to plan your wedding. Between finding a venue, sourcing vendors, sending out invites, designing/sourcing décor, creating timelines, budgeting, and so much more, planning your wedding takes a lot of time! Your time is valuable and we understand that! A full-service wedding planner is here to take that weight off of your shoulders, do all that nitty-gritty work and present you with the best options to take up as little of your time as possible while still having the wedding of your dreams!

A partial planner will help save you time with research And walk you through the tough spots!! One consultation with a planner will relieve you of hours searching for vendors and ideas!

Budgeting

The truth is, weddings are expensive. The average cost of a wedding in Canada is approximately thirty thousand dollars. Hiring a planner who is familiar with your budget can help you make the most out of it and focus on the areas that are important to you as a couple while ensuring a proper distribution.

Planners have been around the block a few times and have learned a few tips and tricks when it comes to budgeting. From knowing which vendors fit best in your budget that will give you the best results, to knowing which candles you should purchase (that will also last throughout the night - You should totally pay attention to the burn times), your wedding planner will be able to assist you on which areas to splurge and which areas to opt-out of!

Knowing the vendors

A key part of being a wedding planner is making connections in the industry! Your wedding planner should be able to recommend vendors to you based on your needs, expectations, and budget. You may be hiring vendors individually, however, at the end of the day, they come together as a team to execute your day. By putting together a well-curated team of vendors, your wedding day will flow smoothly.

Legalities

With a wedding, comes a lot of laws and regulations, however, if you have never planned a large event like this before, you may not even know where to begin. Did you know you require a marriage license to get married, a liquor license to serve alcohol, a SOCAN and Re:Sound license to play copyrighted music in public? Some venues may require specific permits, while others may require specific insurances. Your wedding planner will be able to keep you updated on all the licenses and permits needed!

Exposed to New Ideas... and Old Ones...

If you hire a wedding planner whose sole career is wedding planning, trust me when I say, they live and breathe weddings. Our social media is probably 80% weddings, our friend list now consists of mostly vendors, we read more blogs and magazines than you can imagine, and that's on top of the 40+ hours a week we work as a wedding planner.

Because we surround ourselves with the industry, we are constantly up to date on trends and we are always looking to create new ideas!

A properly trained wedding planner also knows all about wedding etiquette and traditions! Although we believe every wedding should be catered to each couple, we are still a sucker for some traditions! We'll walk you through them and help you decide which traditions are right for you as a couple and help you start new ones!

Day-of Coordination

I have said it before, and I will say it again, but even I will be hiring at least a Day-of Coordinator for my big day!

There are a lot of moving parts when it comes to weddings. Your day-of coordinator will make sure all of your vendors are in the right places at the right time, handle any last minute changes (like an unexpected guest or a rainy day), keep the day on schedule, and put out any fires before anybody realizes. No matter how much you plan, there will always be questions that arise on a wedding day. When you have a day-of coordinator, those questions will be directed at them, so you can sit back and enjoy your day with your friends and family.

Kathryn
